Masters Swimming

Ashburn Farm has a masters swimming practice group that swims during the summer months.  The purpose is to allow adult members of the community to have a friendly and supportive swimming workout close to home a few days a week.  The focus is on overall fitness, improved endurance, and swimming technique.  These are self-coached set of workouts 3 mornings a week (M-W-F) from 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and are held at the Summerwood Pool. There are no charges for these practice sessions.

The program is open to current season (2010) pool members 18 years and older.  All abilities are welcomed and encouraged - from competitive swimmers and tri-athletes to those just trying to get or stay in shape.

If you are interested in this program or would like further information contact David Schulte at 703-726-8169 or send an email to davtors@verizon.net  (to participate in the morning workouts, you must be a registered member of the US Masters swimming organization).  If you are interested in more information about Masters Swimming check out www.usms.org and www.vaswim.org.

Pool Pass Renewal Information for 2011 Season

KEEP YOUR POOL PASSES!

As of September 7th, 2010, everyone’s pool pass will be turned off for the season.  After the first of the year, the newsletter will have the pool application to be filled out and either mailed in or scanned and emailed, whichever is more convenient for you.  Upon receipt of the application, residency and current account status will be verified and the passes will be turned back on for opening weekend.  The only people who have to come into open registration will be families with a child turning 6, new residents or restricted members, and those who never got a pass in 2010.  Those open registration dates will begin in March and will be published in the newsletter, on the website, on the reader boards, and sent to email alert list participants.  Anyone who has lost a pass can simply have it reprinted for $5 and mailed to your home.

Guest Passes

Ashburn Farm Pool Members can purchase guest passes for $5.00 per person or $20.00 per card (which contains 4 guest passes).  These guest passes can be obtained at the pools (by check only-no cash is accepted at any of the pools) or purchased at the Association Office with cash.

Reasons for Pool Closings

The pool area and deck must remain clear for forty-five minutes after the last clap of thunder or visible lightening.

For rain – unless it is a hard rain (cannot see the bottom of deep end) or the temperature is excessively cold, the pool should remain open.

In cases where there are fecal and/or vomit accidents – the affected pool has to cleared (closed) for 6 hours.

If for any other reason a pool requires closing for emergency repair situations, a notice is posted on the pool house doors.

Beginning with the 2010 pool season, your HOA dues now include membership to all three of our pools.  Your only out-of-pocket cost will be $5 for each new ID card.  This is  a one-time cost, unless you need to replace your card at a later date.
