Fundraiser Notice
Ashburn Volunteer
Fire Department
20688 Ashburn
Road Ashburn, Virginia 20147 (703) 729-0006
Representatives
of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue Dept. are currently in the process of
conducting the Annual Door to Door Fundraiser.
The donated funds
will go toward updating needed equipment and training for the volunteers to
better serve the community. The suggested donation is $50.00 per family, but
will gratefully appreciate whatever you can give.
Everyone who
participates will receive a complimentary 10 by 13 Professional family
portrait to be taken at the station.
They noted that the representative (s) will have an ID and
will show the homeowner a letter from the Fire Department w/information on the
fundraiser. In nicer weather, they may also have an AVFRD tee shirt and
hat on. We know that we will not contact everyone at the most convenient time
and we ask that folks forgive us for the interruption. We have the
fundraisers keep the presentation very short and hope that we can just take a
few minutes of someone's time in order to ask for their help. The fundraiser
will usually make 3 passes on a street before moving on.
Please help up
maintain the high quality of service now provided for our community by giving
generously.
A receipt will be issued for all cash collected,
however, checks are recommended. Please make you check payable to:
Ashburn Volunteer Fire & Rescue (AVFRD)
Note: If you have
any questions, please call the Station at (703) 729-0006 or Ed Williams at

Virginia Community College, 1000 Harry Flood Byrd Highway (Route 7) in

Typical HHW items are

Above is an example of some of the flooding
that took place in Ashburn Farm during the storms experienced the weekend of
April 20th/21st.
The Trail (which runs from the
tunnel under Ashburn Farm Parkway - which runs parallel to Windmill Drive
and resides next to the stream) is currently flooded in parts due to debris
washing from the stream onto the trail due to the heavy rain. Our
Maintenance crew is working on getting this area cleaned up at the current
time.)

The Ashburn Farm
Tennis Committee is trying to put together a list of available tennis
players in our community that can be accessed via this website .
If you are interested in participating in
this list, please send your name, contact number(s), when you are available
to play, and your rating (be it self-rated or you have been assigned a
rating by a tennis instructor) to
tennis@afhoa.net.
When the list is up and running, we will be
sending emails to everyone on the list with a direct link.
Also, the Committee is beginning weekly
tennis socials on Saturday mornings at 8:00.
This will be a great chance for anyone and everyone interested in tennis to
come out and play singles, doubles, or mixed doubles. The Tennis Committee
will supply coffee and some breakfast snacks, but everyone is encouraged to
also bring along any food or refreshments as well for a bit of a breakfast
potluck. This will be a great way for tennis players in Ashburn Farm to
meet and network with each other, and set up hitting times at your leisure.
Our first open social will be May 10th. If
you are interested, please email tennis@afhoa.net so we can have an idea of
how many individuals will be there and how much food and drink to get.
Lastly, if you are interested in the tennis program in Ashburn Farm, please
consider joining the Tennis Committee.
We are always looking for people with good ideas and a love of tennis.. So
let’s hit the courts!
