My
name is Peggy Chapman and I reside on Hay Road in Ashburn with my
spouse, Lee. I am completing my first term on the Ashburn Farm
Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Trustees this year. During 2008,
I acted as liaison to the Parking Committee, and in 2009, I acted as
liaison to the Events Committee. After serving on the HOA Board, I
realize how much work, time, and effort are required of many citizens
and HOA staff in order for Ashburn Farm to remain a community in which
people enjoy living, working, and playing. I would like to continue
working with others who have a vision and common interests in the
future of Ashburn Farm.
My husband and I moved from North
Carolina to Ashburn ten years ago to be near our family. I was a
marketing writer with AT&T before taking early retirement. Following
retirement from AT&T, I worked with United Way, the American Red
Cross, and the North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Presently, I am
employed by Nova Medical Group and Urgent Care Center, Ashburn.
After moving to Ashburn, I wanted to get to know other retirees in
the community. I started attending the HOA Events Committee meetings
and expressed my interest in forming an organization for seniors. The
HOA management was fully supportive of assisting in organizing a
senior’s club, which was organized in 2003 and named the Ashburn
Classics. I have served as chairperson for the Events and Membership
committees and President for the club.
