Mike Kimmel (Elected for Term 4/08-4/10)

I have been a resident of Ashburn Farm since May of 2000, having transplanted to Virginia from Texas for a job with AOL.  I still work at AOL as a manager in the Corporate Technologies team.  I quickly came to love living in northern Virginia and specifically in the Ashburn Farm community.  The people I have met in Ashburn Farm are truly friendly and outgoing.  I was welcomed into the area by my neighbors and now consider them amongst my best friends! I want to keep Ashburn Farm the friendly, safe, and supportive community that it is for years to come.

As far as qualifications for becoming a BOT member, I have served as chairperson and founding member of the Ashburn Farm Neighborhood Watch for the last 15 months.  Having been a committee chairperson, I have been in attendance to most BOT meetings since that time.  In addition, I was both a member and later president of the Legacy Hills Homeowners Association in Plano, Texas before moving to Virginia.  Although a much smaller community than Ashburn Farm, many of the issues and problems faced there are also faced by our community.  I will pledge that if elected to the BOT, I will be an active member who listens to the community and supports their wishes to ensure that Ashburn Farm remains a great place to live!
