Darrell Miller (Elected for Term 4/10 - 4/12)
My family and I have been residents of Ashburn Farm for 10
years. We were drawn to this area by the schools, walking
trails, and recreational facilities. I still remember driving
through the neighborhoods and seeing all the people out and
about interacting with their friends. This was the place we
wanted to plant roots and raise our family.
I am a Sr. Director with a multi-national telecommunications company. I’ve designed, planned, and operated networks domestically and abroad working with billion dollar budgets, large staffs, and demanding customers. Professionally, I’m known for improving efficiency and quality of organizations and services they provide. Personally, I’ve been involved in scouting (Cubmaster for Pack 1154), coaching (we didn’t win too many games, but had lots of fun), and first husband (my wife was PTA president… that counts doesn’t it?). Most recently I’ve been working with Ashburn Farm Parents United concerning school boundaries and new school placement. Great communities like ours don’t just happen, you have to work at it. A vision for the future needs to be established, recognition of where we are needs to take place, and a plan needs to be developed to get us from here to there. I would like to bring my experience to the BOT and to the community. Thank you for your consideration.
